Portland Adventist keeps moving ahead

   Portland Adventist separated itself from the middle of the Lewis and Clark League standings to the upper half with a 48-25 win over De La Salle North Catholic Tuesday at the University Park Community Center.

   Senior center Sydney Tonack tossed in 14 points to lead the Cougars, who won their third straight game by at least 12 points, and improved to 5-3.

   Portland Adventist, which reached the state semifinals last year, plays Clatskanie (3-3) at home Thursday then has two weeks of non-league play before picking up league action again.

   De La Salle dropped to 2-4 and plays at Rainier (7-1) Thursday.
